We feel lonely, sometimes to the point of tears, but we don’t let those tears come because we are not supposed to cry. Or how we feel a surge of love for a partner but we don’t say anything because we’re frozen with the fear of what those words might do to the relationship.

2 Saturdays ago was project REACH 2010! A voluntary event organized by the South West Zone Community so bright n early rise n shine we all gathered at Vivo to form this Giant hand to set a Guinness book of world records!
After the intro + briefing + flag off by the MP, we returned to West Coast CC to play Icebreakers games. The theme of Reach 2010!
There were 15 volunteers and a few facilitators but due to miscommunication with the aged home, there were only 5 old folks who were willing to come out to play that day! =\ So this is boon, kun, hainanese aunty, her caretaker & wilson walking towards the entrance =)
one of the exhibits in the earlier part of the museum. bicycles poignantly pinned onto the wall. it was the mode of transport for Japanese entering SGP via woodlands.
The 2 lovely old folks who walked realli fast under our charged. They are so happy and jovial best friends!! =)))
And of course wot is history without our nation's grandfather! LKY. There were numerous videos of him in the museum and of course there was also the tearing one for the sg-malaya separation.
The last exhibit b4 we exit. Our pledge. I never really know how to recite the pledge in Chinese. shame on me.
We saw a really young bride! she is so cute in her tutu skirt!!
the old folks coming out of the museum! =)) we took a grp photo after tt too but it was nt with my cam and on fb apparently but i ha vent gt the chance to look for it =)
yes i <3 museum. woke up early on sat to go to the museum as part of a REACH 2010 project to bring old folks to the museum nxt sunday. so last sat was a pre visit =)
the history museum!! i've nvr bn there. it looks realli cool! this is the entrance =)
at the entrance, we have to self scan our tix and were issued this green thingy called the companion seen below
the campanion comes with earphones and along the way there are numbers on the floor where u can punch into the handheld machine and there'll b a description of each and every exhibit. i think its a super super good idea! cos most ppl cant make it for museum tours which take place at fixed timings and you can walk ard at your own pace and listen to exhibits tt you may wanna bypass =)
with the companion in hand, tts me and kunnie walking in =)
a random exhibit. this rock existed when sg was still a fishing village!
this is the view inside the dome of the museum when we enter. it has lotsa videos and one can walk down this super long spiral stairs and sit at the sofa at the base of the spiral and sit there to watch the videos =)
there were 2 paths to take, the personal path where history is retold from the perspective of ppl who've bn thru them and the event path where history is retold according to their timing in history. we spend 2 hrs there but we scarcely see most of the exhibits. i think the wealth of information there is enuff to keep one occupied for 1 whole day! i'd love to go bk there again some day perhaps on my offday to juz slowly take in everything! =)
