We feel lonely, sometimes to the point of tears, but we don’t let those tears come because we are not supposed to cry. Or how we feel a surge of love for a partner but we don’t say anything because we’re frozen with the fear of what those words might do to the relationship.

Energized after our meal, we headed off to our 3rd stop which is an hr drive out of town to the fairy cave! There's no public tpt to the fairy cave and thus its best that one join a local day tour or rent a taxi for a day =)
Since it is a cave, even the entrance is high up in the cave and that is the flight of stairs we have to climb in order to gt up to the entrance!
Finally reached the entrance! due to our inactive lifestyle in sg, we are tired even b4 we started climbing =\
Steep steep stairs inside the cave. the cave is considered quite developed so there are proper stairs for you to climb, juz that the steps are tall and narrow =)
This feels like Jurassic Park!
If you can spot those tiny humans, we climbed to the darkest of the area in the cave. Its huge! recommended to bring a torch and wear proper trekking shoes =)
4th stop! Wind Cave. There are a total of 3 different routes! They provide torch rental here at RM$3 =) cos its totally pitch dark inside!
The ground here is the wooden planks. Though some planks are uneven, its generally easier to walk over here than at fairy cave.
Bats! The yellow light is my torch shining at them. otherwise the cam couldnt capture them=)
Going into caves is an experience in itself. its a first for me and i really enjoy it! i guess you must really experience it yourself cos photos cant really capture the sights inside. it'll all look juz look like plain boring rocks.
next up, we actually asked our guide where to gt kueh lapis. a famous kueh in sarawak and she dropped us there at no cost. its actually quite a distance away from our hotel! its quite difficult to find and i must admit i wouldnt be able to locate it myself.
and here we are at the entrance.
Look at the lapis! the difficulty level is prob 10/10!
Even bdae cakes, they can customise to have a cross section of ur name!
After getting the lapis we headed bk to the waterfront area and took photos with yet another cat statue =)
And it was time for dinner! This plc is recommended on websites, guidebooks and our hostel mgt. its more of an open air food court selling all seafood stuff. kinda like newton circus in sg =)
From my research, stall no.25 is the best! and its really very crowded later in the night! we were there early to beat the crowd!
The variety of dishes they have.
After placing our order, we sat down to enjoy a nice not cold and nt sweet coconut =( BKK's coconut is still the best!
our food is coming!
This is a kinda wild fern called miri, unique to sarawak and you can choose to fry it in blachan or like us juz garlic and oyster sauce. but its really yummy! its super crunchy and i totally love this! i wish they have this bk in sg!
Fantabulous fried rice!
Satay, not from the seafood stall but it was okies. we were both too bz concentrating on the seafood =)
cereal prawn. this is really succulent and fresh.
sambal stingray. shiok! their sambal there is nt really spicy tho which is gd cos p dont take spicy food =)
curry bamboo clam. its a weird combi for me but apparently its a fave way of cooking bamboo clams in forum. o well. give me my oyster sauce bamboo clams anytime. the clams were very fresh tho'
happy p!
back in our hostel packing for our checkout the nxt morn!
brekkie in airport old town =)
the curry chicken is totally yummy!
penang laksa. slurps!
our small little plane.
beautiful T3!
the only regret was tt i didnt gt to eat sarawak laksa! argh! have to go bk to kuching again to eat the laksa and visit other national parks!
The next day we woke up super superrr duper early at 645 cos we signed up for a day tour! Some of the places can be quite inaccessible and plus we were lazy =\
1st stop! Semenggoh Wildlife Centre. This is an Orang Utan Rehab centre as the apes are kinda considered endangered? =)
The walk in reminds me of our dear macritchie reservoir.
So we walked abt 2km maybe? then we reached a clearing and everyone had to keep dead silent. Perched on the platform the staff did Tarzan like calls to get the Orang Utan out for meals =)
And here they are the species that is 99% alike to human DNA =) The caucasians and japanese were super excited to see the orang utan! =) They should most definitely come to the Singapore Zoo!
They have lots of orang utans in the rehab!
2nd stop! Long houses, where the traditional malays live =) Its a tourist attraction but they real ppl are still living there. i feel awkward for them; bring exhibits for gawking tourists. They are super friendly nonetheless =)
This elaborated thingy is wot they used to squeeze sugar cane juice.
Provision shop on stilts anyone?
P was super thankful for their public toilet =)
Theres actually opportunity to stay over at the longhouses like homestay. i think i'll cry if i stay there. theres nth to do at night =\
Interesting patched roof!
Our not very comfortable ride for the day! but you pay wot you get =)
A nonedescript coffeeshop tts nt part of the itinerary but we were too hungry.
Teh Cino Special. Definitely a must order in Kuching. Its teh chino but instead of condense milk, they used gula melaka. its super yummy! taste a little like chendol tho cos of the gula meleka =)
yummy chicken rice. the sauce is sweet instead of the salty ones we are used to in sg
springy kolo mee
mix pork random soup? pig blood! havent seen it ard in so long. but i still dont dare to eat it.
tomato mee! another speciality! this is super nice. i think kids will definitely <3 this!
