Restaurant Wk Part3. Julien Bompard. To say the truth, i've nvr heard of this restaurant and we decided to try out this restaurant after p's colleague mention it =) It serves western food in the heart of the CBD area and its favoured by professionals. =)
The regular menu which I asked from them. So that I could compare and see how much the food I am eating cost in actual fact. <3 the leather orangy menu.

we prac self control and stopped ourselves from ordering extras haha. the interior of the restaurant is very quiet on a wkend and the theme is orange+white which is very pleasing.
So shortly after we placed our order, we were served the butter & balsamic vinegar+olive oil dip. I used to be only a butter person but i am begining to <3 the balsamic vinegar combo.
I've read reviews prior to going to JB that they are known for their bread. It may not seem very clear here but there are 2 types of bread. The cranberry bread which is distinctive in the pix and a french loaf which is hidden. I personally feel that the cranberry bread is good enough to eat on its own cos it has that sweet/sourness all within a slice. the french loaf on the other hand is chewy and blends well with the balsamic vinegar dip! P & i finished every slice of bread even thought we weren't hungry!
House smoked duck breast. The black dots on the plate are actually truffle mushrooms! I <3 them. The same thing cant be said abt the duck. The duck is smoked to perfection however i'm not a raw food person so the duck is a lil too chewy for my liking. Thankfully P helped me to finish my duck slices.
pork platter with braised jowl, belly & loin. i was like wth is jowl? so anyway i googled it and found tt it was cheek. couldnt they have used a simpler word. Its P's main course and he absolutely <3<3<3 it. ok lah! i like it too. the different cuts of meat are cooked so well that its an orgasmic explosion in the mouth. the fats realli melted in my mouth and the skin is super crispy! This is good!
my spanish paella with chicken & prawn. its a spanish dish, usually served on metal dish that they were cooked in, so i was slightly surprised it was served as such. the rice is nice however i'd prefer slightly wetter paella. The chicken turned out to be small and dry. The prawn is nice n fresh tho' and they had orange slices tossed inside to add a lil bit of zest to the paella. Its yummy! but its nt sth i may order again, or at least nt the prawn chicken combi. i dont mind trying other seafood combi or sth.
we had to wait sometime in b/w courses so p gt bored and i started taking photos of him haha.
melange of berries with chocolate sorbet. this is yummy! the berry sauce is sour to the max like tt kind u'd squint ur eyes in reflex kinda sour. the ice cream is dark chocolate bitter so i <3 it. the thing separating them is then this coconut cake! i read some reviews where customers felt tt it was hard but i think otherwise. i feel that the purpose of having a hard coconut tart in the middle is so as to absorb the cherry sauce from the bottom and the chocolate sauce from the melting of the icecream. cos of the time we took to take photos of the dessert, the coconut tart did juz tt n its nice n yummy!
so very obviously only the smoked duck doesnt work for me. the rest are <3 i dont mind going bk again if i ever feel rich! hahahahaha!
