Friday, April 09, 2010 UNIVERSAL STUDIOS SINGAPORE yay! i finally gt a chance to visit the 2 mth old first ever world class theme park in singapore! =)) wot is a visit to the universal studios without the signature pix of the globe! i think there's sth wrong with the measurements of the globe? the alphabets are put too far apart such that the universal word could not be cautured with the camera. our tixs. given by my aunt. right side is the $10 food voucher that came with the tix! yipee! excitedly i rushed there from work. due to the special entrance. the park extended its opening hours from 7-11pm for this event! So here we are at the entrance at 6+ look at the crowd that gathered already! singers realli love to queue! =) and so p and i went to explore the shops outside universal studios GARRETT POPCORN! Its like THE BEST POPCORN! I had it in NY and fell head over heels in love with it! how come no one told me its on our shores?! me with a 1 gallan pink garett popcorn container! we wanted to gt the chicago mix which is cheesy popcorn + caramel mix! its o so yummy! they provide free tasting b4 u decide if u wanna gt it! =) but my caramel was sold out! so we didnt manage to gt any. boo hoo! so we went nxt door to the hershey shop. the shops are actually interlinked. its like chocolate lovers heaven! saw a super huge giant hershey display! saw so many kinds of baking hershey chips i wanted to gt but i am juz abt to enter the park! i didnt wanna carry anything with me so i dont have to go to the lockers b4 we take the ride so we gave it a pass. Edible palm size hershey! i remembered ms tay bought this bk from the states a few yrs bk and we sold it tgt! they have it here now! Me with reeses! my fave peanut buttercup snack even tho there are so many imitation versions ard! =) *hearts* pix of the superduperexciteduntilwewannapee us b4 we enter! =)) upon entering we were issued this wristband. red=singtel the schedule for the day! like wow they even went all way out to print special screen schedule for this event! the first attraction we were ushered to is waterworld! you dont have to look too closely at the entrance to know why. we were one of the earlier ones who gt in so we gt better seats at the non-wet zone. and look at the crowd. there are 3500+/- ppl tt day according to a speech made later. speech by someone none other then the head of singtel! he talked for a good 10mins+++ abt how they staff work hard and play harder! righto! tts wot every co say! =) i'm srsly regretting nt getting wotever was left on the shelf of Garrett popcorn by now cos i was DEAD hungry. the auntie beside me brought in pasar malam fishballs for her daughter ||-_- so we finally gt the show started! we are the biggest crowd the performers have performed for! like d'uh we werent allowed to go to other attractions b4 the ceo's speech!!! but i guess its more fun like that! performers gt high when they see full hse too! 3 angmohs came out to hype up the crowd; splashing water at the ppl in the soak zone! major coolness! The show! its actually nt bad. its adapted from a kevin costner show which i have never heard of. but all the performers are angmohs! wow! enjoy the bang bang boom, fire, jetski etc in the show! so after the show ended, even tho p and i were dead hungry, i insisted on dashing to the mummy ride. cos w/o the dumb battlestar ride, the mummy is the nxt best thing! we only had to wait like 5 mins cos we didnt have to jostle with the crowd at the locker! see its gt to go empty handed! =) when we came out! the wait time was 45mins!! madness! the ride was exactly the same as the one i took in orlando 3 yrs bk so it wasnt as exciting. but p was gushing abt it like mad when we came out. the wait time definitely turned him off riding a 2nd time. after the ride, we strolled to have our dinner! i wanted to settle for the first restaurant we see which is some friar's lodge or sth. but p didnt like wraps so we ended up in goldlilocks at the shrek castle! me with the food! 5 spiced chicken, corn, coldslaw, chicken strips, bread + my ubercute lunch box! haha! i especially requested p to gt kids meal for me so i could have the lunch box. everything added up to $20! juz now we paid off using out rws coupon! the food is yummy too! surprising. i tot themepark food are ex and yucky! Shrek Castle! =)) pretty pretty. inside is the shrek 4d show which we watched. i enjoyed the show alot! =) me with donkey at the gift shop after the shrek show! argh! i <3 the gingerbread man but we walked too fast out of the shop and didnt notice them selling the soft toy! i saw someone holding onto it thereafter but i couldnt find it at the entrance shop when we were abt to leave too. sad sad. we walked ard the park and saw this! like they really make the prata themselves?! must be the only unique thingy to sg? like of cos i dont expect to see this in universal overseas! imagine seeing this homemade prata in universal osaka?! too bad it was closed if nt i'd definitely give it a try! but fret not, not so many few steps away was another pushcart stall selling churros! actually its at the entrance of the themepark and i saw it when i first came in and marked it down in my teeny weeny brain hurhur. chocolate churros! my first time eating a chocolate one! super nice! its abt $3~4?! i forgot. but yum yum! its hard to find good churros in sg. the one they sell in filmgarde suxxxx! then we started taking pictures with still attractions. p with the churros with madagascar! yay! they are one big happy family! see them holding hands! haha me with madagascar! i <3 madagascar! more photo op. saw an american diners tt john travolta and oliver newton john will approve. the cop car parked outside the diners with p! us and the staff! they became like attractions too! there were so many ppl who wanted to take photos with them! their uniform looked so much better compared to the ones i had to wear in the pass! thumbs up! popcornsaurus. i <3 it! of cos we had to buy sth frm here!\ a souvenir popcorn container with popcorn in it of course. $13! but i dunno wot to do with it now haha. its sitting in my living rm. then it was time for us to leave. there are 10001 other photos but i'll go mad uploading them. so its me with the globe in the dark with my loots! guess wot i bot?! skipper! yay! since i couldnt find gingerbreadman, i settled for penguin to keep me company in the car! cutie pie =) we strolled ard the casino after tt since i've nvr bn there and saw this deformed looking ultra sinister looking elephant at the entrance of the casino that suck the luck out of all the gamblers. eww. so i'll leave u a pix with me kissing this uber cute snake at one of the hotel! the hotel have such cool installation tt i'd love to go bk and take more photos! =)) Labels: food, goldilocks, universal studios singapore
