Tuesday, October 05, 2010 Rawa cont. It was evening by the time we wake up in time to see the beautiful sunset =) This was the jetty where we disembarked earlier in the day, the slide is meant to reach directly into the sea during high tide =) As most of us are burnt, we skipped other water activities and grab left over bread from the kitchenand headed under the jetty for some fishy feeding session! =) the while one looks like yummy promfret tho' haha we spoke to the people ard there and understand that some angmohs stay for as long as a mth on the island juz enjoying the idyllic life! ah such luxury. when we ran out of bread, weifeng and kun went to try the slide. the slides looks majorly fun! but i didnt want a bruised ass so i had to give it a miss heh. we went for a good shower thereafter and headed for bbq dinner! there is bbq dinner every sats and they'll ring the bell when its ready! =) the yummy spread =) then it was chillax with foosball with a pool call cos the pingpong ball was nowhere to be found. the guys were playing so actively that they were sweating at the end of the game! Rawa Sling. Tasted like Singapore Sling! super sweet! bleagh! we retired to the rm to play card games thereafter and called it a night. then it was time to checkout on sunday. =( brekkie is consisted of both asian and western food. theres nasi lemak. but i <3 the freshly made omelette the most! =) yums! as we headed out, we asked the super grumpy driver to let us have lunch along the way and he stopped us back at the same hawker center where we had the wonton mee the day before! this time we had bakuteh! this is my all time fave dish cos i am actually v lazy to eat the bakuteh, some meat are juz v hard to remove from the bone haha. pig stomach soup! pickled veggie and youtiao =) and the highlight of the meal! bakuteh. it looks more like pig organ soup than bakuteh tho. the soup is bagus! =) i perfer the one at taman sentosa area tho! =) Labels: food, Malaysia, rawa island, travel Monday, October 04, 2010 F1 weekend! when the rest of the world descends upon sunnypore for the night race, we decide to head out of sunnypore for some breather. so here we are at the checkpoint to RAWA ISLAND! cos we woke up at an unearthly hour of 5am to beat the crowd travelling between both states everyday, we were all very very very hungry by 7am so the kind uncle dropped us at this supposedly yummy coffeeshop at Kota Tinggi for a bite! >.< wonton noodles with the wonton below. msian food is interesting. although it is meant to be wanton noodles there's onli like one wanton within. it seems more like yongtaufoo to me! after the satisifying meals, we continued our journey to Mersing! and here's the check in counter at the Mersing side before we board the speedboat over! the rickety jetty =) the island's customer consisted of mainly caucasian and singaporeans. its prob too ex for the locals to go. the super fast speedboat. i think the journey was like 15mins. and we reached! saw this interesting sign for our inspiration on our next beach getaway! =) <3 the colourful kayak =) some grapefruit drink upon checkin =) yums. and we are all set and headed to our rm to put our baggage! all the beachfront rooms were booked up and we had to settle for a hillside one =\ here's the front of the cosy cottage like hse!   The bed. a queen size bed =) the living rm area, with no tv cos i think the purpose of being there is to relax. the spartan bathroom. at least they have clean towels! =) towels are always so heavy to bring on trips heh. and before we could even warm the bed, we changed into our bathing suit and headed out to the sea! we must make full use of our short 2d1n stint there eh. cos most of us do not have any diving license, we all opted to snorkel tgt instead. the water there is very suitable, as it was crystal clear, we saw nemo and other colourful fishes, lotsa lotsa lotsa sea urchin and barracuda. this is one of the island we explored. very pretty indeed. it was a personalised trip cos there were 6 of us so we loved it to the max! we were all dead hungry when we came bk and headed straight for the buffet table and grabbed woteva we saw. the entire package includes all the meals anyway. the food was so so but we were too hungry to care anyhows. and the best lifestyle one can get is to slp after one eat and that's precisely wot we did. slping in the sun. =) Labels: Malaysia, rawa island, travel Monday, September 20, 2010 After our haircut, we headed out to this food street. yk's bn there before so he knew! =) i <3 eating in dirty alleys, the food is always nicer! we decided to order like lotsa lotsa variety to try! bamboo clams! this is the best i've tried ever! fat and juicy stingray. Sedap! popiah, it was such a letdown. i've tasted better ones in sunnypore =) chicken wings! juicy! comparable to wot i've had in spore. char kway teow! super damn nice! smells fantabulous too! Orh jian. This is fantastic too! was a little upset that the business was so good that the owner forgot abt us for =\ i do not know the name of the food street tho, but its round the corner of merlin tower which is juz at the causeway! Labels: food, Malaysia Sunday, September 19, 2010 Everyone heads across the causeway on the wkends! 1st stop! lunch! i've nt idea where this is, but its like at taman sentosa? lotsa of singapore cars spotted. all the food is cooked on traditional charcoal stove! i <3 ice jelly! so much nicer than sunnypore's ice jelly. you tiao for the bakuteh! but i <3 to dip it in the dark sauce and eat instead! Veggie! fresh n yummy!
